
Currently, data on safety and efficacy of a new health-care intervention should be complemented with effectiveness data to demonstrate the effects of these interventions in real world conditions. To enable this, PORIB focuses on:
- The design, coordination, monitoring and interpretation of studies of effectiveness:
- Observational studies
- Pragmatic clinical trials
- Retrospective studies through review of databases - The development, validation and interpretation of measures and scales of patients' reported outcomes:
- Health-related quality of life
- Treatment satisfaction, preferences and expectations
- Disability level - Design and development of epidemiological studies
- The statistical analyses for clinical and epidemiological research, social and health services, and presentation and interpretation of results
- The conduct and adaptation of Clinical Practice Guidelines based on scientific evidence, systematic reviews and consensus statements
