Currently, data on safety and efficacy of a new health-care intervention should be complemented with effectiveness data to demonstrate the effects of these interventions in real world conditions. To enable this, PORIB focuses on:

  • The design, coordination, monitoring and interpretation of studies of effectiveness:
    - Observational studies
    - Pragmatic clinical trials
    - Retrospective studies through review of databases
  • The development, validation and interpretation of measures and scales of patients' reported outcomes:
    - Health-related quality of life
    - Treatment satisfaction, preferences and expectations
    - Disability level
  • Design and development of epidemiological studies
  • The statistical analyses for clinical and epidemiological research, social and health services, and presentation and interpretation of results
  • The conduct and adaptation of Clinical Practice Guidelines based on scientific evidence, systematic reviews and consensus statements
